Basen Design specializes in 3D computer renderings for OUTDOOR & INDOOR SWIMMING POOLS. We also create renderings for landscaping, pergolas/roof extensions, and other ADU/outdoor structures. WHAT DO WE DO?
We give clients a typical turn around time of 3-5 DAYS, however, as is pricing, turn around times for designs vary solely on complexity of the desired pool, house & property.
TURN-AROUND TIME
Our primary designing software is STRUCTURE STUDIOS VIP3D, however we plan on venturing further into the world of 3D artistic conception with other programs like SketchUp and Lumion©. If you would like your project designed on a certain program, we are absolutely open to discussing a route that’s both time- and money-effective.
SOFTWARE
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
To create your rendering, we’ll need a few things to get started…
1) ADDRESS of the HOUSE/PROPERTY — perhaps the most important element, the address! We can create a design solely by plugging the address into Google Earth and designing over the screenshot. However, if the property is heavily forested, or you desire more accurate measurements, we’ll need a tad more info.
2) PICTURES of the HOUSE/PROPERTY — send us a few snapshots of the house, primarily of the backyard, or whatever side the pool/proposed structure is going. If the house has not been built yet, send over any construction plans or previous renderings to accurately depict your house.
3) CONSTRUCTION PLOTS — to ensure a most accurate rendering, we’ll design over the construction plans, provided by either the city or home builder. If your property has intense elevation changes, plots depicting this are encouraged. Alternatives include measurement rendering programs such as Moasure. Construction plans will additionally give us a better understanding of the property regarding setbacks, build lines and fencing.
4) ANY ADDITIONAL INFO — whether it be inspiration screenshots off the internet/social media or signing off majority of creative preferences to us, give us any and everything to give you your dreamscape.
Our rate for all design work is $40 an HOUR. Our rates directly reflect the labor it takes to bring a rendering to life. Here’s a furhter breakdown of our project pricing…

To get an idea of how long a design takes, this rendering you see behind the text took around 4 hours to complete. That brings the cost of the 3D rendering to $160, including a few (10ish) pictures of the design, as well as the actual .sav file that opens on this software.

Now, if you require a 2D overhead plot of the design, that’ll add on an additional hourly charge. For something like we see here, this would take 30 minutes, give or take.

Photos during the day time, dusk and midnight (as well as fly-through videos) will also be charged hourly. Photos for a detailed synopsis throughout different times of the day for something here would take, on average, 45 minutes long. Due to the rendering speed of VIP3D, fly-through videos take a very long time to process. A video flying through the day time, sunset and midnight would take an hour and 20 minutes to render, on top of the labor charge to create the video itself.

If there are any edits that need to be done to the rendering, after or before the design has been paid for, those edits will be charged hourly as well.

PLEASE NOTE: The pricing examples mentioned above are to give you a very rough guestimate of what something could be priced out as, however, every design is subject to it’s own labor hourly rate and any pricing decided for your design is a direct reflection on the time it takes to complete any task requested.
